I hope the Christmas break brought some light relief to what has been an incredibly busy - and what can only be described as a roller coaster - of a year. Now that you are all rested and relaxed, I thought that this would be the ideal time to pound your senses with some fantastic news and show you all what I’ve been working on for the last few months.



The PC version of this great Free Radical game will be hitting the shelves very soon. With previews and reviews striking the pages of magazines and websites in the near future, you will be able to see for yourself what aspect of this title will draw you to it.

If you haven’t played the console adaptation of this game, let me explain how the game pans out… obviously without giving too much away.




Second Sight opens as John Vattic awakens from a coma in a US medical facility where he has been subjected to traumatic surgery and experimentation. He doesn't know his name, he can't remember his past, all he knows is that his only hope for survival is to escape and unravel the mystery that has led to his imprisonment.

Haunted by flashbacks, which form fully playable game episodes, and shocked by the discovery of his own psychic powers, Vattic goes on a search for his past and, in doing so, uncovers a fatal chain of events leading to a sinister conspiracy. As Vattic explores his present and past, the game weaves between these two different time periods, which run through the game as a dual-narrative. The player-controlled actions of the past Vattic have consequences in the present - allowing a unique interaction between the player and the narrative of the game as Vattic's destiny is changed.

If you are in the mood for flinging bodies around with the power of thought alone (don’t worry, you’re not the only one), then this is the game for you. Add psi-blasts, persuasion and possession into the fray and you have the beginnings of a great arsenal, all in your mind. Then again if you want to gun someone down (maybe you are the only one in this case), well, let’s just say you won’t be disappointed with the weapons cache at your disposal. SMGs, Assault and Sniper Rifles, plus Hand Guns will stifle those gun-toting urges.

Second Sight will be hitting stores and our online shop in February, but I guess you already knew that you psychic bunch.

Modtastic! What am I talking about? Well, if you are a frequent visitor to our Soldiers Forums, you’ll know exactly what I’m blubbering on about. Mods or modifications are extra units, maps and more importantly new content as created by the Soldiers’ Community. Already on the list of must haves are the Africa Mod, German Soldiers Mod and the Battlegrounds Mod. Plus I have it on good knowledge that a team or two are working on something pretty special that I am very much looking forward to seeing. Have I said too much? Probably.

So what new games do we have lined up this year I hear you ask? Well more will be revealed in the next newsletter and should excite the most unexcitable person. If you enjoyed the technology within Perimeter, then I’m sure you will be getting very excited about a project that we are working on with KD Vision. Which, by the way, won the Most Innovative Game Award on Gamespot.com, and most Innovative Design Award on IGN.com in December.



The new year will be bringing a host of new games and surprises in our direction, so be sure to stick around and accompany us on our 12-month journey of fun, games and more games. I have a lot planned in the meantime to keep us all entertained and to keep the party going. For some lucky members of the Community there’ll be some Codies HQ visits to see the games in development, plus some hands on, thumb-bashing, mouse-clicking opportunities.
